Tennessee Titans offseason review: Biggest questions entering 2025 season

Now that the 2025 NFL draft is over, every team will be able to reassess their roster, and we will do the same, starting with the first overall pick Tennessee Titans. What are the biggest questions on the roster after the draft?

Can they get enough pass rush juice?

The Titans moved on from Harold Landry, their top sack getter. They added Dre’Mont Jones, who gives their defense more versatility and a run defense threat, but it eliminated some pass rush juice. Most of their starting front seven is built towards defending the run, and they lack a guy with real upside.

They are asking a lot of rookie Femi Oladejo to deliver as their designated pass rusher, so this could be a flaw all season.

Can Cedric Gray take the steps needed at LB?

The top four snap getters at linebacker from last year’s Titans roster are gone. They added Cody Barton in free agency, but the lack of attention to the position in this draft has to signal positive momentum for the 2024 fourth-round pick, Cedric Gray. Last year, seventh-round pick James Williams was getting work over Gray, but Gray was working back from missing most of the offseason due to an injury. Does the lack of moves indicate Gray is getting his fair shot now, or is this a major weakness on the roster?

Can Kevin Winston push Amani Hooker out or take Xavier Woods job?

Kevin Winston was selected in round three, which means he will likely be a rotational depth piece, but he also has a chance to push for a starting job. They just signed free safety Xavier Woods this offseason but are not committed long term, and strong safety Amani Hooker is a free agent after this year. Hooker is the better player of the two, but Winston may fit his role better and Woods is signed beyond this season.

Can the CBs behind L’Jarius Sneed step up? Brownlee year two, Sneed healthy

The Titans made a big move for L’Jarius Sneed, who missed a lot of time in his first year with the team in 2024. Assuming he is back and healthy, the real question is, who is across from him? Jarvis Brownlee was up and down as a rookie and appears to be getting the first crack. The Titans’ lack of investment at this position signals they are still high on the former fifth-rounder.

What’s going on at WR?

The Titans needed to add to the wide receiver room this offseason and did just that. However, they took a ton of small flyers instead of one big one. They signed Van Jefferson early and Tyler Lockett late. Then, they drafted Elic Ayomanor and Chimere Dike before signing Xavier Restrepo as a UDFA.

Right now, expect Calvin Ridley to the X outside, with Van Jefferson being tailed by Dike and Ayomanor for the second outside spot. Tyler Lockett will man the slot with Restrepo behind him. Which rookie can unseat Jefferson, and when do they move on from Treylon Burks are the big questions.

Can Dan Moore complete the line?

The Titans had needs at right guard and left tackle, and added Kevin Zeitler and Dan Moore. Zeitler is older, but he is plug-and-play. Moore is switching schemes and has now been paid big bucks after being average for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

His insertion at left tackle pushes JC Latham back to right tackle, his more natural position. With Peter Skoronski taking steps and Lloyd Cushenberry as a solid center option, there is one big question, and that is whether the left tackle can live up to his money.
