The sleeper tight end that no one is talking about in the 2025 NFL draft

The 2025 NFL draft class at tight end has been given some high praise, not only for the two players at the top but also for a strong tier below them. There are a lot of pass catchers and playmakers in this group, but one name that is not getting nearly enough discussion is Oronde Gadsden Jr. from Syracuse.

Gadsden is the son of former Miami Dolphins wide receiver Oronde Gadsden and brings his style. He has a big catch radius and is a jump-ball winner. This can be a mismatch player because of the combination of size and ball-tracking skills he brings.

Gadsden worked out at his pro day, and has a striking athletic comparison, especially when you think of how these two played the position.

Gadsden will certainly be more of a receiving threat, but he has effort and can be a backside blocker in a zone-heavy offense. If he can bring enough as a blocker and can improve in a few areas when it comes to fluidness running routes, this player is going to be the steal of the draft.

This player is raw at the position, and at times his stride length can be too short. Gadsen may also have to earn more respect from blockers, or he may be viewed as a less athletic receiver. This is what is going to cause him to slide in the draft.

It may not be until day three, but look for when this productive and athletic tight end is going off of the board because he could turn into a weapon that is valuable in the NFL.
