Sometimes, when you are ripping through as many prospects as possible to prepare for the NFL draft, you find yourself attached to a few players who tend to stand out from the rest and catch your eye in some manner. They are not even close to getting drafted on Thursday and may not even go on Friday evening, but when you hear that name on Saturday afternoon, your ears perk up. Who are the receivers in that camp this year?
- Tai Felton, Maryland
Tai Felton has some of the smoothest releases, and he has shown the ability to win in all areas of the field. He has a long frame and great speed, but he is a bit thin, and that can show at times. Drops can be an issue and it is why he does not go higher. Still, few in this class move like him, and his production last year speaks for itself; he is a playmaker.
- Elijah Badger, Florida
Elijah Badger led Arizona State in receiving for two years, transferred to Florida, and immediately led their team in receiving. He just produces, and you watch him play; you can see why. In 2023, his average depth of target was around seven, and 76% of his yards came after the catch. In 2024, it was over 17 yards downfield, and just 30% of his yards were after the catch. He tracks the ball well and runs hard with the ball in his hands. He does not create the most separation, and he never played special teams, which will be a transition if he goes on day three. Still, this is a high upside player you bet on.
- Andrew Armstrong, Arkansas
Andrew Armstrong is going to be 25 years old during his rookie season. He was in the same high school recruiting class as Garrett Wilson and George Pickens. From redshirting at Texas A&M Commerce to recording over 1,000 yards in the SEC, you cannot knock his rise. Armstrong is a tall, long possession receiver who may never wow you with downfield bombs, but he could stick in the NFL as a chain mover.
